
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She also serves as the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division for professional women's soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she was co-captained the women's national soccer team of America alongside Megan Rapinoe. Following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was picked as the first overall selection in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. In the team, she made her professional debut and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan, then 22 years aged, was the smallest national player in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She was second in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012, which makes her the youngest and sixth most prolific athlete in the world to achieve 20 goals in a single year. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan helped the United States win their titles in both the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments, while she won the Silver Boot in 2019.
